Insure that at least one teacher at each grade level has special preparation in constructivist learning, diverse instructional techniques and brain based and/or other learning theories.
At least one teacher in the school has course work or other preparation to assist students in the study of issues related to a Green and Healthy School. Examples include health and safety courses, environmental coursework, etc.
Teachers are able to assess student work in a wide variety of ways and regularly use a wide variety of these assessment techniques.
Block scheduling, after school opportunities or some other strategy is available to allow for investigation and teaching strategies that require longer time periods.
School policies and procedures exist which allow students to conduct outdoor and community investigations in a safe and encouraging atmosphere.
