Kentucky Green and Healthy School Improvement Projects are S.M.A.R.T.

Schools participating in this program are required to complete one improvement project per inventory. As students and staff answer the inventory questions, they will notice opportunities for potential improvement projects. Once your school has decided on an improvement project, please complete an improvement project description form and submit it for approval. This form is based on the S.M.A.R.T. requirements below. Depending on the scale of the improvement project approval from your school board may be required.

Descriptions of improvement projects should include:

  • Steps and goals
  • Examples of how the above will be achieved
  • Class(es) and teacher(s) involved
  • Measurable Outcomes
  Measurable Explain how the progress of the project(s) will be evaluated
  Attainable Improvement projects, steps and goals should be realistic
  Real Effort Share improvement project opportunities and ideas with all members of your school community
  Timeline Tentative timeframe of project steps to assist in planning and evaluation
